And... Frank and Drac paid me a visit. Here they are, atop the dust cover of my Dual 1229:

Mothra paid a visit, too. It seemed as if the giant moth was attacking me, until I realized it was just me moving the plastic toy closer and closer to myself. A variation on the Ouija-board phenomenon of unconscious movement, perhaps. So embarrassing.

(Lee, being "attacked" by Mothra.)
Anyway, we've got some horror and sci-fi TV themes to listen to. I never did find the following show very scary--scary-bad, maybe, but not frightening. Battlestar Galactica, it was called, and I remember being bummed that it was created by the same guy who created The Outer Limits (Leslie Stevens). But that's just my snobbishness--it's not like OL was high art, either....
Theme from Battlestar Galactica, Henry Mancini, 1978. From RCA LP.
While equally unspooky, Star Trek was as Halloween a show as TV ever offered, with its bright costumes, colorful monsters, pointed ears, and old-fashioned space guns. I wish I had the song version of this (yes, there was one!). Not the easiest melody to sing, I wouldn't think, on account of all the modulations and half-steps and such. The lady on the TV soundtrack did a terrific job, regardless....
Theme from Star Trek, Henry Mancini, 1978. From RCA LP.
What can I say about this next theme? Only this: Da-da-da-dump. (Click, click) Da-da-da-dump. (Click, click) Da-da-da-dump; da-da-da-dump; da-da-da-dump. (Click, click)
The Addams Family (Vic Mizzy), Frank De Vol and His Orchestra, 1965. From ABC-Paramount LP.
We've heard Quentin's Theme from Dark Shadows, but we haven't heard the DS theme music. Enter the First Theremin Era.
The Barnabas Theme from Dark Shadows (Cobert), The First Theremin Era, 1969. From Epic 45.
Stuff you'll only hear at MYPWHAE. Unless you hear it someplace else, too....
