Merry Mervmas! (Part One)

NOTE: THE LINK ON THIS PAGE IS NO LONGER WORKING, BUT... GREAT NEWS! THIS MATERIAL HAS BEEN REPOSTED AT http://musicyouwont.blogspot.com/2007/08/merry-mervmas.html , ALONG WITH EIGHT MORE MERV XMAS TRACKS! BE SURE TO CHECK IT OUT!

What Christmas is complete without Merv? What a silly question.

NO Christmas is complete without Merv.

(By the way, I just tried to switch to Blogger Beta, or whatever it is, and I was told this is not possible at the moment. One of my blogs can't be moved, it said. Ohhhhhhhh-kay.)

"Moved," mind you, not "Merved." Proving that Blogger has no sense of wordplay.

However, we've got four Mervs to move here. They are:

Christmas City (Don Peterson), Merv Griffin, year unknown.

The Song of the Christmas City (Peterson), Merv Griffin and Maureen Reynolds, year unknown.

Christmas Time, Merv Griffin with Freddy Martin, 1950.

Sleigh Ride, Merv Griffin with Freddy Martin, 1950.

And you can here them hear. I mean, hear them here: Merry Mervmas! Just zip on down to the bottom of the Savefile page.

Apparently, Duluth's annual Christmas City of the North Parade is tonight. So... happy to post these in time! Hope the parade is a memorable one. (Hi, Duluth!)

Oh, this is my first blog post on my new (HP Pavilion) computer. An historic occasion--and YOU was there!

Thanks, Lee, that was Mervodacious as usual. This isn't a request, but I would like to know if Kay Starr ever did a Christmas song other than "The Man With The Bag". From what I've read, the B-Side of that single wasn't even a Christmas song...
Thanks!
