More excellent performances and selections from a sampler LP--last time, it was the Christian Faith label; this time it's Zondervan Victory. Yes, this is middle of the road gospel, and yes, the album's a thrift store staple, but so what? It's great stuff.
True memory: years ago, in a campus record shop, I asked about Chad Mitchell Trio LPs. The clerk looked troubled, and he asked me, "Weren't they popular?" Well, yeah. So were the Beatles and Stones, but I suspect he had no issue with them. I didn't ask, however.

I got one of these Zondervan samplers in Lubbock in 1996 when I went to meet the in-laws. There was a splendid trombone soloist on it. Love this programming approach. The quality's all quite good.
And one of the coolest Christian music covers ever!
