It's Polka Time, Part 3!!

Polka music for the annual The World Didn't End celebration. Celebrating the fact that the world didn't end is one of the great modern traditions, and it usually involves someone finding vital clues in Bible text that, when reversed and combined with the lyrics of Hey Jude, produce a day that happens (by a remarkable coincidence) to not only be in our time but merely weeks or months away! Two years, tops.

Of course, we know by now that the world did end. So, those of us who scoffed at the idea are now wishing with all our hearts we'd listened to Harold. But we didn't, and whose fault is that?

No fewer than ten fabulous polka selections today, with more where these came from. (Twelve more, I think. I'll have to borrow the CD-R rip from Bev. Then, on top of those, there are at 20-some titles yet to rip from disc. Pollllllka!!!!)

I'd love to post, but....

I have a post written, ripped, and ready to go. And I can't, for the life of me, get a link to post. I've tried three or four different ways to get the Box.net link to take, but the best I can do is bring people to the Box.net sign-in page. Good grief.

I've contacted Box.net. Hopefully, there's a way to fix this. If not, I'll have to switch everything I post to 4Shared. I remember, about five years ago, when posting was way more simple, when I didn't have to trade off between two browsers, with one browser refusing to make hyperlinks and the other having to be tricked into doing so.

Meanwhile, I've tried Bev's newer, state of the art PC, and the exact same problems occur. So at least it's not my HP.

UPDATE: Gerald at Box.net got back to me quite quickly with a temporary fix. Now, that's customer service!

40-year "Willie Wonka" cast reunion on "Today"

Coolest former-child cast of all time!

I had a crush on Denise Nickerson (second from l.) during her Dark Shadows days. I never appreciated Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory until I was older, though. My desire to see Johnny Depp in place of Gene Wilder can be summed up in two words: none whatsoever.

See them on a recent Today: Willie Wonka reunion, Today

Sunday morning gospel--Good ol' gospel Muzak!

The above image was swiped from eBay--I tried to scan (and join together) my own image, but the results were wanting. Today's selections, however--Muzak or not--lack nothing: they are extremely well performed and arranged. "EZ" gospel, to be sure, but I'm not knocking it. Excellent playlist (Come and Dine simply doesn't show up often enough), good singing--what's to knock? Give it a download--you won't be having downloader's remorse.

By the way, I assume these were sold through TV? Can anyone tell me? At any rate, far worse products have passed hands via the airwaves.
