Back, and glad to be. Last Friday's storm knocked out our power, phone, and Internet. Our generator should have kicked on/in, but it didn't--we had to call the installers on our cell (or was it the car phone?), and a guy showed up a couple hours later and fixed things. Better not run the central A/C, he told us, so we didn't, even with temps in the upper 90s. Phone service came back first (Monday, I think), then power Wednesday evening (and A/C!), then Internet service today.
It took the central A/C several hours to lower the indoor temp from 89 to 70. The latter feels way more human.
The cats, of course, are loving the heat. Here's a photo of Savio loving the near-100 heat on the front porch:
Perry, ditto:
And here's Calvin, who tagged along with us as we surveyed the storm damage. Damage photos coming up in next post (I've got to size them for the blog). Calvin says, "Stay tuned!"

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Lee. Looks like all the excitement scared poor Calvin's tail plum off!
(-: I'm so out of it, I was wondering what a "tail plum" is! I'm nursing a migraine, which is finally easing up at 11:12 pm.
Thanks for the nice words. I asked Calvin if he ever wonders why he has no tail, but in fact he wonders why so many *other* cats have the odd torso appendage in question. I don't know where he picked up such a big vocabulary....
Calvin looks very easy to like.
It's impossible to do any less! He's adorable. Had his first fight, though--we noticed a big scratch on his nose. I'm sure he didn't start it.
Long time, no hear. How are ya?
