Sunday morning gospel: Your blogger at the organ
Your blogger at the Casio WK-3800, playing two organ patches and one jazz guitar patch (though not at the same time). I've double-tracked the organ on Jesus Is Coming Again and We're Sailing Home, the latter not syncing as well as I wanted, possibly owing to my primitive sound-on-sound arrangement (which involves lining up two separate tracks, one atop the other). Most of the playlist consists of hymn tunes dating from the late 1700s to the early 1800s, with at least a couple "fuging" tunes thrown in.
Don't let the "Casio" part mislead you--these patches are quite nice. Hopefully, my playing does them some degree of justice.
To the Sunday morning organ: Your blogger at the organ, 7-22-12
Welton (Malan, 1830)
Amsterdam (James Nares, 1780)
Lead, Kindly Light (Dykes)
Jesus Is Coming Again (Peterson)
We're Sailing Home (Kindig)
Northfield (Ingalls)
Herr Jesu Crist, wahr Mensch und Gott (Zachau) (Jazz guitar)
Ganges (American melody)
Jordan (Billings)
Clarendon (Tucker)
Bartimeus (Read)
Lenox (Edson)
And here's a shape note performance of "Northfield" on Youtube: Northfield (Ingalls). I thought I'd found a shape note performance of "Ganges" a while back, but it's not showing up....

Speaking of the organ, do you still have your regular Sunday morning gig performing? You haven't mentioned it in a while...
Yes, indeed. Played the piano this morning--did a fast version of "Jesus Is Coming Again," and sounded great, save for botching a chord I'd altered. I can never read my own notation.
In music, as in life in general, we focus on the big hurdles and then stumble over the pebbles that line the walk. (Yes, you can quote me.)
Anymore, we're doing a lot of "praise" songs, so I'm on the piano more often than the Hammond.
Thanks for asking. I'm in the zone when I'm on the church piano, but I have no means of getting a decent recording. (Hm. Unless I borrow the church laptop and use Audio Audacity....)
