Well, it was a nice idea while it worked. That is to say, I turned off comment moderation because the verification screen was getting too unreadable. Now I've been forced to turn it back on. Sorry about that, but I've had one piece of rude, anonymous snark, plus a host of spam.
This is the Internet thanks one gets for giving of one's time and music for free! Nothing new about that, alas.
I think (I'm not sure) that what I have now is comment moderation minus the dang verification. That hadn't occurred to me as an option. I need to study the screens more often.

More moderate moderation. Technology at its finest!
I don't really have a comment but I am anxious to know if I can get in to leave a comment if I wanted to. Last time I tried the verification proved to be more than I could handle. Thank you for trying to do something about that.
Your friend and faithful follower, Mary.
I approve of comment moderation. Anyone who would assail you for any aspect of your elective public service deserves to host an ant colony.
I say count your blessings ... you could have been flooded with rude, snarky spam ... "Hey Ugly, hate your blog! BTW buy these boner pills and/or this Swiss watch!"

Lee,
Do you have an album I defintely would not hear anyplace else? It's "MNerry Christmas And Happy New Year With The Mom And Dads". It was from about 1970-73 on the GNP label.
Lee, "snark" and spam are by products of a medium that, for now, is truly free. Glass have full....enjoy and don't let the "bad guys" think they are getting to you. You do good work.....Merry Christmas to all! And I, like Steven, approve of comment moderation.
