Superb country gospel by the mother-and-sons Nash Family Trio from Pfarr,* Texas--Clara Nash, David Nash, and Billy Nash. This is a last-last-minute post, so no time to comment further, save to say this 1960 LP features superb monaural sound, and that there's not a bad track in the list. Nothing remotely close to one. The liner notes describe the vocal mix--high baritone (Billy), bass (David), and soprano (Clara). A potent mix, and my ears don't for a moment long for an extra voice, so there's some brilliant vocal arranging going on here.
Download this for perfect Sunday sounds. Or Monday through Saturday sounds. I'll be grabbing up anything else that shows up in the thrifts by this terrific trio.
*Possible typo in the liner notes, as my search for "Pfarr, Texas" turns up a Pharr, Texas.

I believe I have an album from them somewhere. I'm personally not a big fan, but I downloaded the folder to see if one of the songs was what I thought it was and shawnuff, it is! They call it Holy Be, but The Chuck Wagon Gang (the only other place I've ever heard this song) calls it Holy Be Thy Great Name. I first heard it on the Columbia album LORD Lead Me On, but here it is from Youtube.

Yeah, it's a goodun! CWG LORD Lead Me On, was the first Gospel album I got as a kid. Got that, the aforementioned Statesmen 78s and a couple other albums the same night, from an older couple that my grandparents and I attended church with at that time. After the LORD saved me a few years later, I was a member there for a while and they were still there! Mamaw Mary (as some of us called her) took such pride in the outside of that little country church looking so nice (flowers and such), but I'm off topic. BTW, I've had three copies of that album over the years LOL!

Thank you, thank you! I've searched for this for years! When I was a boy (I pre-date you by a few years), we had a 99¢ Columbia promo sampler called Country Music Festival, which had Carl Smith (your host) introducing tracks from upcoming albums. One of them was "Everybody's Gonna Have Religion and Glory" by the Nash Family Trio. It was fascinating! Two other tracks stayed with me: "Black Sheep" by Stonewall Jackson and "Send the Light" by the Chuck Wagon Gang (whence the Macedonian call in that version?). Those have been easier to come by than EGHRAG, but it's finally here and sounds better than ever. Thank you!

My pleasure! I have that sampler, too--found it years back in a thrift store. So "Everybody's..." jumped out at me, too, when I ripped this. The ideal Side A starting track. You know, of course, that this song is also known as "Gospel Boogie," which it is.
In some versions, the lyric is: "Everybody's Gonna Have Religion IN Glory." Not that most of us can differentiate between "in" and "and" at that tempo. I hope you can find their other album!

As far as I know, the original version of Gospel Boogie, was done by The Homeland Harmony Quartet on the White Church label, back in like 1947. An interesting side note is, Everybody's Gonna Have A Terrible Time Down There from The Statesmen (featured here the other week), is the same stylistically, but of course, tells the fate of unrepentant sinners who of course, go to Hell. It was first recorded by The Statesmen as Satan's Boogie, an instrumental.
