The LeFevres--A Man Who Is Wise (1968)

Today, we have the superb LeFevres, and while I don't recognize most of the titles, I enjoyed every one.  I didn't have time to confirm composer data, though I can report for certain that J. Cook is not the author of 1868's Whispering Hope--that famous number (hard to find in hymnals, btw) was penned by Septimus Winner, who also gave us Listen to the Mockingbird and Ten Little Injuns (an adaptation of a folk song).  The sound is fresh out of the package--this was still sealed when I got it.  I don't think this was a Diane thrift gift, but if it was, my thanks to Diane.  Recorded in 1968 at LeFevre Sound Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

Lee,
Latched right on this'n', 'cause I've got the album somewhere LOL! In fact, Jess and I have a friend who was an Abner and was very interested in the title cut, so I taped her the album, several years ago. I do appreciate having said now digitally, thanks! Oh and I believe Oh Daniel Prayed, was written by G.T. (Dad) Spear, but don't hold me to it. I believe my introduction to that song, was either from any number of Bluegrass groups back home, or The Inspirations, all of the above employing cut timing, which The LeFevers don't use here, BTW. An example of such is, ol' Daniel prayed every mornin' )pause) noon and night, just to name one of 'em in the song. Going for now, Sunday Dinner is fixin' to be put on the table, priorities, you understand LOL, so 'til later, keep 'em comin', love and prayin' for ya!
