A fake-hits birthday!

I usually don't make a point of my birthday at the blog, but I've reached the age after 63, and I thought I'd celebrate with two fab forgeries: Birthday and When I'm 64.  Brought to you by The Candy-Rock Generation and Unknown.

When I'm 64, yes.  Wait--that's now.  Whoa.  At this rate, I'll be 65 next year.

Happy, happy, as happy as you make us with the music you find/fix and the ramblings you write. Always fun in store when you post something new.

Happy birthday, Lee! Rumor asserts that the Fabs were in fact singing, "Will you still need me, Will you still feed me, When I'm six-feet four?" So we'll assume that your neighbors have spent the weekend watching you tackle the garage-door hoop and backboard, yes?

Thank you for sharing the revelry... and the Revelers. Cheers!

Such nice words--thanks, everyone! Glad I'm still needed at 64. I was 10 when that song came out, and of course 64 seemed an eternity away. In fact, 18 seemed an eternity away. I had a limited concept of eternity...

Hi!

Belated Happy Birthday Lee! Won't ever "catch up" to you as have a few more before 64. Researching the songs & found some info. to share. "When I'm 64" comes from Canadian Arc label & would LUV to have this one as Arc is major part of personal Canadian LP collection = about 70 LP's so far. Nice cover art here:

https://www.discogs.com/Unknown-Artist-Music-From-The-Beatles-Film-Yellow-Submarine/release/3088206

Rock-Candy Generation appears to be a "Hits cover/copy" band that put out a 3 disc collection LP in '69. Have seen this cover already but not sure where (here?). Discogs lists this:

https://www.discogs.com/The-Candy-Rock-Generation-Super-Rock-45-Of-Todays-Biggest-Hits-The-Candy-Rock-Generation/master/1272412

Request: able to please U/L either/both here? Thanx in advance.

Cheers!
Ciao! For now.

rntcj,

Well, I suppose I could put up both in their entirety. I've featured select tracks from both at the blog. And I just today realized that Arc is also "A.R.C."--Allied Record Company--which had a number of fake hit co-releases with Pickwick! And I'm sure the Rock-Candy Generation wasn't an actual group, though I can't be sure, of course.

Let me think about putting these up in whole. Thanks for the birthday wishes!

And here are a few more fake Beatles tracks from Arc and the Rock-Candy Generation: https://musicyouwont.blogspot.com/2019/09/faux-fab-four-part-3-lucy-in-sky-my.html

Hi!

Thanx for response. Not many owners do. Also thanx for connection to "Faux Fab Four 3". Does that means there's a 1 & 2? ;)

Cheers!
Ciao! For now.

Yes, just put "Beatles" in the search box--they should all come up. Links are still active (or should be). If you haven't heard it before, the UK Top Six labels' "Beatlemania" is an amazingly good collection of fake Beatles tracks--the band is genuinely excellent: https://musicyouwont.blogspot.com/2020/03/top-six-teenagers-choice-beatlemania.html
